The Idea Season

by janbking on June 10, 2009

New ideas are hatched at any time of year, but summer is the time when people feel more like musing, thinking and playing than producing. Because Book Expo America feels like an “end” to me – so many books just finished in time for the event, just after BEA, beginning about June 1, feels like a time to start or start over.

Most of my new clients come to me over the summer but many don’t really get started until after the kids go back to school in the Fall.

If your natural calendar works that way, let it happen. Keep your good ideas going with a journal or a file or on your Blackberry. Just find a place to store them and add to them for when the time is right for more focused concentration.

If you are at the beginning of your publishing journey and planning on writing or writing and publishing a book this year, join us in Dallas on August 5 for a one-day event where we give you both the 35,000-foot overview of publishing for authors and details to make your journey both short and successful!
